There is a big difference between worshipping God in a utilitarian way - so that He blesses me and does what I want - and worshipping God in an adoring way - so that He is blessed by me and I give myself to whatever He wants.

God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth. (John 4:24)

Spirit = Right heart and attitude. Truth = Right head and actions.
