Every single one of us have or will be forced to deal with death. Most of us don’t like to deal with it and avoid it as much as we can, or until we are forced to. This SS class will hopefully provide some helpful guided discussion related to death and dying. Penny Hoffman, who is a grief counselor in the area will join us for some of the classes, and a panel of folks from our church; Mary Friedline, Ken VanAntwerp, and Paulette Jenkins who have dealt professionally and personally with death, will help us talk about many areas related to death and dying. We hope this class can be a safe place to process some difficult thoughts and emotions that often accompany this area of life.

What does it mean to be the “body of Christ”? How are we as the church of Jesus Christ supposed to live in an unbelieving world? In this SS study this spring Nancy VanAntwerp and Mike Dunlap will lead us in watching the disciples, empowered by the Holy Spirit, fulfill Christ’s call for them to be His witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the ends of the earth. We hope you will join us in this study of the book of Acts which records for us the mission of the early disciples to be the body of Christ; to their unbelieving families, neighbors and friends, their enemies, and to whomever they were led to tell about Jesus.

“What if God designed marriage to make us holy more than happy?” In his book and video series, author Gary Thomas emphasizes how marriage can serve as a spiritual discipline helping couples grow closer to God and each other, transforming their marriage into a means of growing spiritual maturity and Christ-like character. This class will explore how we might grow in holiness and experience the joy of loving God and loving our spouses well. Jacob Soto and Scott Steltzer will facilitate this class in the library.
